Le domaine de Marson, dont le château fut construit vers 1860 par l'architecte Charles Joly-Leterme, abrite une fantaisie pour le moins exotique en Anjou, une piscine d'inspiration méditerranéenne réalisée à la demande du propriétaire, l'industriel Henri Fricotelle, qui est le résultat d'une entente exceptionnelle entre un maître d'ouvrage fortuné, deux architectes cultivés (Jacques-Maurice Prévot et Pierre-Victor Brunel) et de véritables artistes-entrepreneurs, l'atelier du mosaïste d'art Isidore Odorico.
